Severe Snacks is an illustration series that finally makes clear: all food is violence. I'm the artist, Sandra Gibbons, of Portland, OR. I've always been interested in the tension between the cute and the wicked.

I began drawing these fierce snacks in the summer of 2014. It started with a t-shirt idea- boxing ice cream cones! I wondered what would happen if all the cute anthropomorphic food smattering the packages in the grocery aisle decided to fight each other- and to fight back.

You can flaunt these funny illustrations on books, tees, pillows, mugs, and more. I released a coloring book on Halloween 2016. Here are some fries with a side of rabies I colored from the Severe Snacks Coloring Book, with Prismacolor watercolor pencils, and a bit of water:
